I have been working with Enabling Care for You for nearly four years and have met many different individuals.
One of my clients was GB, he was a very cherished client and a lovely man, who I supported in the Maidstone area. GB had a beautiful ginger, white, and tabby cat called ‘Lulu’, he is old and extremely friendly and loved saying hello to all the carers that come into the property to support GB.
We all knew LuLu’s routine of having his biscuits in the morning, having strokes, going exploring for the day and coming back home in the evening to give his Dad some company. Lulu would sleep with GB every night and was his little best friend that kept him company for many years.
Unfortunately, after a long fight, GB peacefully passed away and sadly GB’s family wasn’t able to look after LuLu, the Enabling Care office sent out an appeal for someone to adopt LuLu, which I happily accepted. LuLu has been living at home with my three other cats and I ever since. LuLu did really miss GB and also tried looking for him, he obviously missed his dad dearly.
Now, after a year, he is very settled, more than content and loves playing with my other cats. His day now consists of playing in the garden, chasing my other cats, and sleeping all over my mum’s bed. My family and I love having LuLu at home with us and feel very privileged to be able to look after GB’s little fur friend, and constantly reminds me of why I do what I do.
