A day in the life of Val

My name is Varaidzo Pisira (Val). l am a Zimbabwean lady who got an opportunity to come to the UK to practice as a clinical support worker under Enabling Care For You Limited.

I am happy to be part and parcel of the mentioned company. Enabling Care For You’s team our goal is to always put a smile on our clients, their families and beloved ones faces.

As a clinical support worker l commit myself to work, and l put my clients first as it fascinates me when the clients are happy and comfortable.

Everyday before l sleep l make sure l check my rota, thus giving myself amble time to prepare and plan the day as we visit clients in their homes.

As carers, we are the primary source of health care to some, as we give support to clients with personal care. Eg. shower, oral care, hair care, shaving, dressing, medication monitoring and administering and reporting all medical issues and concerns. Furthermore, we also render companionship, give support to clients who are at end of life, people with dementia, some with physical or mental disabilities, sensory impairment, so it’s a big responsibility to promote people’s wellness and wellbeing, while taking into consideration clients opinions, desires, feelings and beliefs.
